Amenities Our resident rooms and common areas all feature an updated decor. All resident rooms are wired for telephone service and cable TV. Our building has air-conditioning for your comfort. Each floor has its own, nicely appointed dining room. And we have a beauty/barber shop for your convenience.
Outside, our spacious front porch provides the perfect place for people-watching. Our perennial garden, picnic table, and landscaped yard offer you some lovely, private spaces where you can take a stroll or sit and talk while you enjoy some fresh air and nature.
Activities Staying active and involved is an important part of everyone’s health and well-being. Our seven-day-a-week activities calendar will provide you with a variety of recreational activities to help keep you mentally, physically, and spiritually active—no matter what your level of mobility is.
Our schedule of activities includes gentle exercise classes, games, music, crafts, discussion groups, religious services, and more—all designed to keep you vibrant, energetic, and on the go. We also have a gardening group, and our men’s group particularly enjoys virtual bowling through our interactive Wii system. If you have a hobby you love, you can bring that along with you.
We also provide opportunities for you to stay involved in the community. If you’re able and interested, you can join your fellow residents on shopping expeditions, go out for lunch, catch a SteepleCats game in the summer, see the fall foliage or Christmas lights in the winter...and so much more that the area has to offer.
Certification/Accreditation North Adams Commons is certified by both Medicare and Medicaid. We’re also accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), a nationally recognized, independent organization that sets standards of excellence for nursing homes and other healthcare facilities.
In addition, we are proud to have signed the profession-wide Quality First pledge, which further reflects our commitment to quality, ethical care and resident safety.
